About me

My name is Amber O'Brien. 

I am the former head catering chef for The Smile at Milk Studios in NY, NY. I left my full time job in the summer of 2016 to raise my daughter, Olive. I still work as a personal chef on occasion and I do take catering jobs here and there.

 

I attended Johnson & Wales University College of Culinary Arts in Providence, RI and graduated in 2010 with honors and an arts & sciences degree. Upon leaving I have worked under some great chefs including Tom Colicchio, Walter Potenza, David Burke & Melia Marden respectively. I have learned so much from so many coworkers through my journey and for that, I am forever grateful, especially to the women of The Smile.

I love to research, learn, and collect new recipes and this site is mostly just a big hodgepodge of just that; my own and borrowed. I find so many friends and family members asking me for different recipes on a regular basis that I decided to just put them all in one place and pass them around digitally for everyone to use. 

 

Although I am no longer working in a day to day professional environment I still believe in learning and what better way to do so than creating a new meal each day? All photos are simply snapped at dinner time with an iPhone for now, and credit will always be given to anyone I take a recipe from. Thanks for visiting!
